My son has a 7 year old ipad and I am going to upgrade to something newer. Will we see a new mini this year?
Or should I go with the 2018 iPad? He mentioned the iPod Touch but that is 3 year old software also.

Personally I think Apple is done with the Mini. But… what do I know? They are able to keep some things from being leaked.

The 2018 model is a great device. I'm considering selling my 12.9 IPP because I use the smaller iPad way more.

My wife doesn’t like the size of his 2012 9in iPad and wants to get him the mini or iPod touch but I keep trying to tell her that it will be outdated before long so we should buy the 2018 iPad.

Wait until Oct. 30th to see what is announced. I doubt there will be a new iPad Mini but who knows. At this point I would I would avoid both the iPad Mini 4 and the iPod Touch (6th gen) as both use 4 year old technology and will probably only get 1-2 more years of software support.
