So I just picked up this case at best buy and really dig the form factor of this case. It's slim and light and doesn't take away the sleekness of the iPad mini. I've owned a lot of LifeProof cases for my phone and my iPad and they've all been nothing but awesome products ImO. I also got the Smart Cover by LifeProof for the case at best buy as well and it works, looks, and feels similar to the Apple Smart Cover. It even has the magnets for the sleep awake feature. Over all I'm happy with this case it rocks!

Is there anywhere to research this product? Lifeproof doesn't make mention of it specifically and just has a subtle teaser pic on their site. I'm asking because I'm planning on getting an ipad mini soon.

Research the case? Here's a review of the case; as far as a LifeProof Smart Cover review they're not even for sale on the LifeProof website yet I found the LifeProof Smart Cover at my local best buy. Was actually surprised I found it because they haven't mentioned when it will be released on the LifeProof website or on their Facebook page.

So the Lifeproof Smart Cover is a cover to cover your covered screen? Would make a lot of sense if it was the Nuud case, where there is no protective cover for the screen, but a cover for the cover is kind of overkill?

Hah! I thought the same as well, Yeah it is a bit overkill, but I guess if you don't wanna scratch the plastic screen protector putting it in a backpack with pencils and such or wanting the sleep/awake feature without pressing the power button it's worth it.

Found it at my local Best Buy. It's not on the Best Buy or LifeProof website, I just happened to see it in the iPad mini case section at Best Buy when I was picking up a TV, and scooped it up quick smart there were only 2 left. Guess they have a limited quantity at the stores right now. So check your local store they might have them.
