I have extreme guard on my ipad mini retina and use an apple smart cover. I need a frosted back cover made from flexible material and compatible with the smart cover. Anyone knows where I should search? Thanks
Check out the Cadaube frost mini shell.
This looks good. However the specs say "Compatibility: iPad mini (1st gen only)"
Do you know if this fits retina model?
Doh, my bad. It probably won't fit. I have the iPad Air version.
How do you like it? Does the smart cover work well? Looks non-bulky
Some reviews on Amazon say that the corners crack..
Haven't had issues with cracking. But I wish there was a frost gray version to match the slate iPad.
Incipio makes slim shells too...have had good results with them. Here's an iPad Air/retina mini roundup.
Thanks, looks to be a good option. My first ipad case was a canvas from switcheasy. I loved it even though it was a bit bulky but those days it was the only good book case around. It cost be $60 and the plastic had a terrible problem of cracking every few months, though switcheasy would replace it after a few emails. I gave up on that once I upgraded to ipad 3. I hope this doesn't have a similar corner cracking issue - which was my reason for preferring a flexible material rather than a hard cover.Switcheasy CoverBuddy is SmartCover compatible.

I've experienced cracking with the Cover Buddy for the first gen mini. They were good about replacing the case for free, but then the replacement eventually cracked in the corners as well. Now that I have the rMini, I avoid hard shells for the back all together.
Edit: this is the back I use: http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-SoftGe...3&sr=8-2&keywords=fintie+ipad+mini+back+black. Mine came without the Finitie branding. I like it because it does not have a rubbery feel and it's a matte finish, vs glossy.
I guess I'll skip the switcheasy coverbuddy then.
Which Fintie color do you have? Only the clear seems to show the apple logo (others show it in the thumbnail but not in the actual pictures)
Are the cuts exact? And how thick is it?
