Thinking about getting a tablet, since my ipod touch 4th gen is too small and not powerful enough to make it a useable game player. I have enough money to buy any of the tablets.
iPad Mini 64GB:

  • Most expensive to buy
    Cheapest apps
    Already invested in ios ecosystem
Nice size- have one in the family
    Easiest to add content onto
If jailbreak comes out, will be nearly as customisable as android
Nexus 7:

  • cheapest to buy
    32gb only
    smallest and cheapest build
    android(not a positive or negative)
    More expensive apps
    Not invested in ecosystem
    Harder to add content to
Nexus 10:

  • Biggest
    Ridiculous screen density
Not much cheaper than iPad mini if i get the 32gb
Still have to rebuy apps and more expensive.
Still harder to add content to
Is anyone in this or has done this situation?

If it was me, I'd wait till next year before buying an iPad Mini. Although people will tell you they have had great experiences with it (and I'm sure they have), its still running 2 year old tech in an A5 chip and 1024x768 pixel density).

For me, I'd wait to see what Apple brings out next year. Or, get a smaller capacity iPad 4.

If you have the money and are already invested in iOS, the iPad mini is a no-brainer really. But if you're on a smaller budget or you're just wanting to try a new OS, the Nexus 7 is a very nice device.

This is your answer...wait to the next gen mini
In the meantime, go spend $200 on a Nexus 7
Nice little tablet and does gaming just fine

I disagree. If you're always waiting for the next big thing you'll spend your whole life waiting. If you want an iPad mini get it now.

If you don't have an iPad yet, then choose the mini. The 64GB is great and the aspect ratio is better for most content (not for 16:9 video). I find the Nexus 7's aspect ratio really limiting, especially in landscape mode. I haven't tried the Nexus 10 yet, but that would be my second choice for the larger screen size and the latest Jelly Bean. Until the apps catch up, however, the mini still has the advantage.
