I want an iPad Mini to complete my downsized photography kit. I sold my Canon DSLR and extra lenses and now have a Canon SX740, and a couple of small Canon point and shoots. Plus my iPhone 8+. These meet my needs for my hobby and I am happy with this gear. I have an older MacBook Pro and used to do all my processing on it. Now all photo work is on the iPad Pro 10.5. Since the Mini now supports the Pencil and is smaller for toting around I want one for out-and-about processing (whenever that might be). Problem is I think they are still overpriced. Any deals out there or any chance of a price drop? (The higher storage model.)

Historically, sales on the Mini are few, far between, and minimal ($50 off).
I'm the type that doesn't see many of Apple's products being worthy of the prices they are demanding. Of all the iPads that Apple offers, I think the best value is the entry level iPad. The next best value is the Mini.
If I needed/wanted a new iPad now, I wouldn't have any problem paying full MSRP for the Mini.

Yeah, they just had a sale that ended last Sunday or the one before that, at Best Buy... the sale started in February I think and went for about a month long though. It was lowered like @sracer posted above, (just $50 off.) That was good enough for me though as I have been holding back getting one as $400 is too expensive considering the iPad 7 is $329. It’s not an A12 chip, but the A10X is a great processor that is still faster than most of the current competition’s CPUs (despite being a 2016-2017 chip.)
Anyways, I eally love the mini and didn’t want to wait and hope it would drop down further for Black Friday or they discontinued it for a new model (I highly doubt they will, but still)... also, stuff sells out fast because people are crazy.) ha ha

Costco is selling them for $349.99 or pick up a refurb from Apple $339.99
They just went back on sale at Best Buy as of yesterday. $50-$100 off depending on which model you get. I missed the sale last month, but was able to get a price adjustment to match the sale price.
