Why not both? :D The mini 5 has plenty of top and bottom bezel. It's already taller than the mini 2/3, so it has room for both larger screen and less bezel.

that's the second option

same form factor but lesser bezel that will allow for bigger screen.

This one. The current form factor is optimal for YouTube.

wouldnt it change the resolution if they increase screen size?

Yes, it would become either a 326ppi mini Air (2224x1668 @ 8.53”), or a 326ppi mini 11” Pro (2388x1668 @ 8.93”). I’m leaning more towards Air, unfortunately, because Apple.

Bigger screen.

I was just thinking: If both Air and mini get the full screen display treatment, at that point Apple might as well just promote the mini to the full fledged Air branding. Both use the same chips and have laminated displays. The mini is just the smaller brother of the Air, like how the iPhone 12 will now have two sizes for an identically specced phone. It would dramatically simplify the naming scheme in my opinion.

Unless they can squeeze bigger sceen in the correct iPad Mini size, they should keep the same screen size and make it smaller for extra portability.

And hopefully they'll skip the FaceID and move to TouchID under the screen...

Absolutely a bigger screen. The current 7.9-inch screen size feels cramped!

There are plenty of other options for people like you that looking for bigger screen!

Makes too much sense.

But sometimes Apple lacks sense.

yes because if they want a bigger screen there are many iPads that offers the bigger screen

I still think an iPad with the same screen size but smaller frame by removing the bezels will be great device for the following:

on the go professionals

workers always on the field

those who wants an iPad that can fit in the pockets of their jackets or coats

from roaming supervisors to hospital employees

of course those who just wants they can use for a longer time by carrying in one hand.

My vote is for a smaller form factor. Specifically I'd like something that fits into my pocket so I can free up my hands. The current mini just barely fits into my back pocket, a slightly smaller one would be perfect. But really I'm ok either way as long as they don't change the aspect ratio. I think foldable displays will make the mini obsolete though, but not for several more years.

The iPad mini is the perfect size already.
Increase the screen size, decrease the bezels, and keep the outer size specs.

I have an iPad mini 4 that is my main device, and used an iPad mini 2 before that.

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone complaining that the overall dimensions were too small. I've heard the word "perfect" many times though.

Personally, I would love it if my Mini 5 were all screen with the same physical size

I’d be happy with a same footprint Mini with Air style bezels, rather than iPad style. The Pro looks nice but I don’t want Face ID and wonder about the price tag.
