iPad Minimize Gesture

Since installing iOS12 on the iPad the 4 finger gesture to minimize an app now launches the task manager half the time.

Is there a trick to getting it to minimize instead of popping up task manager?

Don’t reach as far in to the top right corner.

Try to do it faster! Works half the time for me

Flick rather than swipe, if that makes sense.

P.s you can do it with one finger from the bottom of the screen now

I think I got it.. as GreyOS mentioned, a slight sliding motion downward while doing the gesture opens task manager now.. have to keep the gesture centered without a downward drift which I do when I'm in a hurry.
