iPad mirror to TV?

I know you can mirror your iPad to your TV using Apple TV and adapter.

Is there a cheaper way that someone could mirror the iPad to TV?

I have a newer LG Smart TV.
I've read there are apps but the reviews say they are hit or miss.
I can't justify buying the Apple TV. I don't mirror enough to justify the cost.
For that matter, I don't mirror enough to justify the adapter cost either.


Is there a cheaper alternative out there someone knows of?

You can try this. It's supposed to work with iPhone and iPad. The cheapest Roku device is the express for $29. Just not sure if all their devices will mirror. Prices vary but it would be a one-time expense and Rokus offer a lot of channels.
