Hi,

I have bought a radio app to well obviously listen to the radio on my iPad, but is there anyway to still have the radio app playing whilst at the same time trying to open safari and surf or use any other application?

It's a shame that you also can't have multiple applications open and swipe from one open app to another without having to press the home button and then open your next app you wish to work with.

Cheers now :)

You will be able to do that in a couple of months.

For now, you will have to jailbreak.

Edit: drat, I was slow!

There is several radio apps for ios3.0 that allow background listening.

If I open up an MP3 stream in safari and then close safari the audio continues to play and my iPad isn't jailbroken.

If you are not afraid of jailbreaking it (a very easy thing to do) you can load Backgrounder which is a program that will let you do exactly what you want to do.

Wunder Radio will run in the background (via Safari), plus it has a built in web browser too.
