Curious question. I have been using my ipad m4 with my Cinema Display for a little bit lately. I got to thinking, because the iPad doesn’t switch to a ”headless mode” when attached to an external display, i noticed there isn’t anything going on, on my iPad display when I’m using it attached to the external display. Is there a risk for screen burn in on the ipad, while there’s just a stagnant desktop with icons for so long?

With OLED’s in general yes. But I guess you are going to test for us if this also holds true with the Tandem OLED that Apple uses?

If you view an image with 100% black fullscreen on iPad Pro OLED, it's essentially like turning off the screen, which can help reduce burn-in on your display.

Yeah i have read of people doing that. Its annoying that apple hasn't given the option of turning off the built in when connected to an external display.
