...updated as "shipped" on the friday, right now my 32gb iPad is just 40 miles away in hatfield. *swoons*

but this got me thinking, with all the delays, priority lists and 2-3 week delivery times people have been reporting, has anyone else had such quick deliveries?

*ordered from pcworld btw*

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And also, even though the iPhone is the new thing, they're really still backed up making iPads, due to the fact that they didn't really imagine it'd be so popular. So one could imagine they'd be taking a while for deliveries.

Anyway, have fun with the iPad!

Seems like the availability is getting a lot better.....probably a bit hit and miss at Apple store in major markets but it seems like small markets are better and Apple.com is ready to rock.

and at the moment it is now 20 miles away, very high hopes that it'll be couriered to me today...

This really is a good sign of things changing in regards to availability.

This is because you ordered from PC WORLD. They have stock, and plenty of it (except for the low end WiFi model).

Their stock is in the UK, ready to ship, whereas DIRECT FROM APPLE is coming from China, and is currently backlogged.

I too ordered mine monday, and received it wednesday.. I only had a chance to open the box today though!

Looking at their website, they have stock in my local store. Not all models available, as BritishBloke said the lower priced models are harder to find.

I'm tempted, however not tempted enough to hand money over to DSGi

I ordered mine (64GB 3G) directly from Apple mid June - ordered Monday, shipped Tuesday, delivered Wednesday.

It was shipped from within the UK and delivered by TNT.

I think the pre-ordered shipments came directly from China but it seems Apple now ship in bulk from China to the UK and then re-ship from their warehouse in Hinkley. US customers on the other hand do still seem to be having their iPads shipped directly from China.

I bought mine at Best Buy, it was an open box iPad, but the iPad and accessories were sealed brand new. That was in early May
