I updated today to iPad OS 13.2 and felt that my device is running a lot hotter than before. Did anyone else here also noticed this? Or any other weird observations than before updating to 13.2 ?

Mine runs hot for a good 24-48 hours after updates. I’ve kinda learned not to panic if it doesn’t persist beyond a couple days. It’s usually doing some serious background stuff initially after updates.

Been observing charging issues on mine where I’m having difficulty getting it to top off to 100%. It will get to mid 90’s and then stop pulling current from the charger but if I then shut the iPad down completely the device will resume charging at a decent rate until fully charged. This wasn’t happening before I updated.

My iPhone does the same after an update. It's most likely the reindexing of files that happens right after an update. Nothing to worry about. :)

If the same theory is applied to every update then about 1 and half months back when i updated to iOS 13 that time this problem did not occur ??

Did you start using your phone right after the update? Or did you let it sit for a bit.

My iPhone X has been running hot through out 13. But is cooler since 13.2 and perhaps better battery life. Do have the memory management bug though.

I have had this issue with my 1st gen 12.9 for over a year on certain cables / chargers, and with my 10.5 too. My understanding is that it only happens with USB 3.0 devices (not the 9.7 for instance) and with certain cables / chargers, but I have not been able to find a precise cause

Chalk up charging issues for me as well. Using Apple’s 29W charger and cable. It won’t reach 100%, and then it begins discharging while plugged in. It’s infuriating.

Seems to happen on mine regardless of what charger cable I use. It’s frustrating as hell. I just woke up to find my iPad at 55% trying to charge it overnight. This never happened before the latest update. I have been monitoring power draw using an in-line USB power meter. If I initiate charging without shutting the iPad down first eventually the device will stop charging before reaching 100%. Without unplugging it if I force shut down the iPad it will start charging again while remaining powered off and finish charging to 100%. Given that this behavior is not widespread it must be something to do with my iPad itself despite seeming to be related to the update. perhaps something got corrupted while performing the update. In any case a replacement is on its way (touchscreen issues) so i anticipate that I will not have the same issue on the new one after a fresh install.
