Anyone have kindle reader on an iPad pro with ios 14? My screen keeps going to black (not an auto lock thing) while reading. I have to tap screen to go back to active display. Does not happen on iPhone 11 Pro or ios 13.

How soon does it happen? I just tried it on my iPad and it seemed fine but I didn’t do it for that long. I read on my Kindle Oasis and just have the app on my iOS devices just in case I’m ever without it so I haven’t used it properly since the update.

Yeah getting the same here - iPad Pro w/iPadOS 14.
Timing and behaviour seems erratic though, occasionally it's just a flicker for ~1/2 a second, other times screen stays black until it's touched. Also doesn't seems to have any real pattern as to when it occurs, sometimes ~10 seconds after starting a new page, sometimes ~ 30 seconds.

Tried restarting the iPad, re-downloading the app etc.and no joy.

Will look for somewhere I can report it.

Exactly. It sometimes just flickers, but will also just black out. Touching screen will bring it back. Apple pencil being attached has no affect. Being plugged in or not has no affect, either. Only app doing this that I can see, is Kindle. I have an iPad Air that I refuse to update till they (Kindle or Apple) fix it. I read using the Kindle app and don't see why I need a separate device for that. Apple books doesn't have the screen problem.

Emailed Amazon through the kindle app with the details, though I imagine it's already been reported elsewhere and it's just them playing catch-up with sudden iPadOS 14 update.

edit:was just reading something for the last hour or so, and in the last 30 mins the flickering stopped. Hard to tell what changed, but only major changes for my part were: playing music via Bluetooth in the background, and screen temperature changing due to True Tone (I turned a lamp on in my room). Regardless, not going to pay it any more attention for now, likely we'll get either a Kindle or minor iPad update in the not too distant future.

Unrelated to your original issue, but have any of you updated to the 14.2 beta? If so, and if you have an iPad Magic Keyboard, can you try turning the page with the arrow keys and let me know if it works for you? Mine worked fine before the beta update, but doesn’t now.

Have any of you noticed issues with screen blinking in other apps?

this may be related?
