Was that before or after it was fumbling through papers? I think that paper rustling sound is so funny. Then there are the pauses in speech like you're talking to a real person . . . hilarious. Even more funny when you say something it doesn't understand then gets a customer rep for you. :p

Haha so I just tried to do mine and see and it was like please let me get someone to help you with your order. When I was reading the info I could hear a keyboard clicking in the background then the robot voice changed.

Means nothing. When I was waiting for my i7 iMac, it said "prepared for shipment" several weeks before the thing ever shipped. The agents had no idea why.

Not that it matters. The arrival date is no mystery, which is a nice change of pace for Apple.

Now I know where to intercept the shipment!

You will find out the real meaning of "The iPad Rocks!"

Did the robot actually say "f'n" or did it use the whole word? :p

That just means your empty shipping box is ready. :D

What it might mean, really -- because I've had this experience -- is that they've printed the shipping label.

A couple of years ago I tried to modify an order because I had foolishly used "one click" without checking to confirm that my shipping address was up-to-date. I discovered the problem in time. My iMac had not yet gone out. But because my shipping label had already been printed at some remote staging facility, the Apple rep -- despite heroic efforts, including frantic telephone calls and burnt offerings to St. Stephen -- was unable to fix the problem. So my new computer took about a week to find me, six miles away from my former address.

Just logged in to check my status. States not yet shipped. Ordered mine around 11 am the initial day. If apple wanted to really get more sales, send out the orders 1 week ahead so we can show off the iPad to everyone.

My 3G iPad order status says "prepared for shipment". Since it says late April I doubt that really means it is in a box at the airport. i'm not putting much stock into it.

just tried calling and said order status and then it verifys my billing zipcode and tries to transfer me to a rep...online still says the same thing

Is there a N. Pole hotline to find out what day my Christmas presents will be delivered on ? :p

either way, I remember going through that "product is ready no its not, its on backorder, no wait its not anymore, but now its on backorder again" BS when the iPhone 3G came out. Hehe, at least you can feel a little confident it will be in your hands in 3 weeks :p
