More RAM doesn't drain your battery faster. Maybe it feels like it because you can work in apps faster with less reloading/waiting.
It actually should since it is a powered component but the amount should be very little - not sure if it would be noticeable to the casual observer.
Where were you able to find a 1TB? Did you just order one online? They’re out of stock everywhere!I had a 256GB model for a week before returning it for a 1TB. Anecdotally I saw no difference. The 6GB does seem to help when switching between RAM heavy apps like Affinity and Safari.

They really aren’t though. As far as I can tell no store (in a whole bunch of states i’ve Looked at) has a 1TB Cellular in stock in either color.1TB are collecting dust in Apple Stores, iPads that cost near 2K aren't flying off the shelves

It looks as though there are some silver 11 1TB cellular in stock here in Arkansas. But just about everything else in 1TB is gone.
SoHo Apple Store. Admittedly it was the *only* Apple Store in Manhattan that had that model, but they didn't seem to be moving them quickly. I think some Apple Store staff are bigger proponents of the iPad Pro than others. I heard two associates talking a woman out of buying the iPad Pro while I was waiting to buy mine.Where were you able to find a 1TB? Did you just order one online? They’re out of stock everywhere!
Perhaps. I'm skeptical we'll see another big performance jump next year (or next cycle) because there isn't another process drop and Apple seems to have mastered heterogenous thread management and memory compression. Anecdotally I've seen faster app switching and less refreshing with memory heavy apps like Affinity and Safari. In hindsight I wish I'd kept the 256GB for a couple days to test both side-by-side.If you buy the 1TB version for the storage, of course it's fine given that your budget allows. But if you buy the 1TB only for the extra RAM, I don't think it's worth it. You can save at least 1/3 of the price towards the next iPad Pro in a year and half which will definitely have much better performance than the current one.
