anyone else with the new 10.5 iPad have an issue with the home button / Touch ID sensor getting hot to touch? Noticed it on mine this evening.
Wasn’t something I have had happen on my iPhone 6S or iPad Pro 9.7. Device behaving happily otherwise.

I have a theory to test. The heat issue is only present when my apple pencil is far away from my ipad, maybe there is a radio connection that goes rouge...
If you have the heat problem reproduceable and an Apple Pencil, test it by putting the pencil right next to your ipad or disconnect it and see if the problem persists.
Question for all with this problem: Is this on iOS 11 beta or also iOS 10? I have this problem on the beta... from iFixit it looks like it must be display related, there are the new timings controller for the 120hz Display and the touchscreen controllers in this area...
This wouldn't work for me since the heat begins to permeate the home button and surrounding area when I actually use the Apple Pencil. For example, if I'm using Goodnotes, within a minute the heat begins building, and as soon as I'm done writing, the heat begins to dissipate.

This is interesting. I wonder what happens to the 120Hz and touchscreen controllers when the Apple Pencil is used.
Dang it! 😣So yeah late reply but apparently the same issue still persists with iOS 13.5 so I guess there's nothing to be done about it.
