My unit has some underlying problem with battery charge control. The battery has been replaced, and the issues continue (jumps in reported battery charge levels, device powers off within hours if not put back on charge, doesn't auto-power on when put back on charge).

So I am now looking at DIY projects that I could reuse the great screen on this device. I saw Youtube videos of reusing earlier devices in this way with a "LCD Control Board" (also called a "Controller", probably some other names). Their guidance is to search eBay and Aliexpress with the screen's model number and the above search terms.

Nothing is reported for newer iPads, and my model in particular. Does anyone know if it is capable to do this? I see no obvious reason why not, as it is just driving this panel, which is a standard, mass-produced thing... But what do I know.
