Good morning all.
I have updated Ipad Pro 10.5'' 2017 model with IOS 15.
It started doing weird loop after install, can't get it to work ( see video).
I have tried hard reset and nothing works.
Please help. :)

Have you tried to see if you can do a clean re-install via a Mac/OSX, if you have access to one?

I have older Imac (2008 model). If I do a clean reinstall do I loose all the files and settings??

Hello! Same problem, my iPad Pro 10.5 is dead like in your video!
I know I should have waited for 15.01 before upgrade 😭....

What can I try?

You can still use your iCloud back-up to restore afterwards, if you have one. Otherwise yes you will loose all files and settings, but it is probably still better than a non-working iPad. It is my best suggestion, but maybe someone else has a better idea of how to solve your problem.

You need to do a clean install. Should be available from the Finder. Just do a "Restore," wipe everything, once iOS is installed fire up the iPad.

I had a similar problem… completely black screen mid install.. I know you said you did the hard reset but just for ***** and giggles.. press the home and power buttons at the same time until you get the Apple logo. The install will them finish.

Can you confirm which buttons you mean? Home button and power button? This is hard reset for this model.
Or do you mean all buttons at once?

@madchenmic39:

  1. Connect your iPad to a computer.Press and hold the Power button + Home button (if your device has a Home button), or press and hold the Power button + either Volume button (if your device doesn’t have a Home button) until you see the Recovery Mode screen.
  2. On your Mac, locate the connected device.
  3. Click Restore and wait for the process to end.
I have restore and the back up form iCloud but there is the same problem, maybe an app installed is related with this issue. Now I'll try to restore as a new iPad and check if it's working....

Thank you, will try this. Does Restore use I Cloud in the end and restores everything from ICloud?
So in theory the Ipad will be configured as it was?

Unfortunately no, if I restore the back up form iCloud the problem come back again. I have restored as a new device and it's working, now I'm reinstalling all the apps manually. If you need to restore the iCloud back up I suggest you to wait for 15.01 to be released and hopefully they will fix the problem and you'll be able to upgrade and restore data....

So, I restore this as a new device and manually install apps back? :S

So tried restoring in Itunes and can't do it. The Ipad is still doing the spinning wheel loop after I enter password, even when connected to Imac.
Is there any way to boot Ipad in recovery mode and force restore?

How do you restore it as a new device? Any options I have are via Itunes and if I click Restore it doesn't let me pass. It says I need to disable Find My on Ipad which I did in Icloud. :S

Sorted.
What helped:
I have connected Ipad to Imac using ITunes.
I have erased Ipad using Find My on my Iphone, as soon Ipad went into weird cycle.
I was able to click Restore, I have used Restore as new device.
Luckily everything was reinstalled from ICloud.

Hope this helps anyone.

I have 15.0.1 on my iPad Pro 10.5, can't update to 15.0.2 – stuck on "verifying update". Also no luck updating via Mac or PC (error 4000).

Had same issue when trying to update to public release from iPadOS 15 beta 5. Was able to eventually update only via iTunes (not Mac for some reason) and DFU mode on iPad. I think this trick will work with my current issue but this is super annoying. Looks like Apple doomed these iPads for good.

same issue here, had the problem going from public beta release candidate to official version. did a clean install with 15.01 and now have same problem in update from 15.01 to 15.02. Do not want to do the updates via the finder every time in a clean install

I have the same problem. Since iOS 15 every update on my iPad Pro 10.5 gets stuck on „verifying update“. Clean install via Mac works. Annoying!
