Looking for some assistance. I have seen several references that the iPad Pro 12.9 supports full ipad multi-window display versus the 10.5 does not (uses iphone size windows)? Can anyone help with the significance of that? Is there a video that shows the difference? I am trying to decide how much this would impact me.

Thanks.

The Split View & iOS 11 on the 12.9 is a dream! In split screen, both apps would behave like a full-sized iPad apps. The best way to describe it is that the 12.9 feels like you have almost two 10.5 iPads in portrait mode next to each other.

Whereas the 10.5 would use smaller windows? Is that the main difference?

No. This is not a matter of a 9.7 iPad window shrunken down to fit on a 12.9 or 10.5. For all ipads smaller than the 12.9, splitwindow uses the "Compact UI" version of the app. That means less content and even a slightly different interface within the app.

Here's a low-res cached image that a MacRumors user posted (he has since deleted it) showing the difference. You can see the different presentation on the right panel.

This difference won't be an issue for an overwhelming majority of the users, but for anyone making serious use of splitwindow, it is a significant issue.
