Is the base 10th generation iPad now better than the 10.5 iPad Pro?

In what regard? The base iPad has a better processor and camera, but there are still things better on the Pro (quad speakers, flash, laminated display, ProMotion, anti reflective coating).

ipad pro 10.5 comes with a laminated screen and 120Hz Refresh rate.
ipad 10th gen comes with a non-laminated screen and 60Hz refresh rate.
Check out this: https://pctechtest.com/laminated-vs-non-laminated-display
It covers the differences between the two types of screens, pretty good.
Some people don’t like that there is a large gap between the glass of the screen and the content on the screen. Personally, I don’t care all that much.

Does that comparison also mention the 10.5” Pro’s tendency to develop white spots?

That being said, it is a good comparison between both screen types.
