Hi everybody, does anyone know if it’s normal for iPads to develop this kind of yellowness across the edges with age? I bought it in 2017-2018 and now it looks like this. I have reduced highlights on a photo a bit so you can see the yellowness better.

Any help appreciated!

Does not look normal at all.

Seems like the 10.5" has all kinds of problems related to the LCD. Wonder if this is true for the newer models as well.

it seems iPad Pro 10.5 has many issues with LCD. its not an ancient device anyways. 5 years is a reasonable lifespan for an iPad Pro and there are numerous complaints with the display panel.
I think this is the first iPad with a laminated screen? Maybe the issues with first generation products?
I won't be buying a new model of iPad straight after the launch next time.

The Air 2 is the first iPad with fully laminated display.

The Pro 10.5 is the first one with ProMotion but the 2017 12.9 has ProMotion too and doesn’t seem to be as plagued with issues as the Pro 10.5.

Just seems like defective design on the 10.5. The 2018 iPad Pro got a complete re-design as well but it doesn’t seem problematic like the 10.5 either.

I have this on my 2018 12.9. It occurred way after the warranty had expired so I never did anything about it. I really only notice it on a pure white screen like you have shown above. For everyday use (which is a lot) when there is more color on the screen its not really noticeable. I use dark mode too which probably helps to mask it.

I‘m not happy about it but it’s not worth it to me to pay to have it fixed. I’m probably going to upgrade in the near future anyway.

We’ve had a LOT of iPads in the family going back to the original and mine is the only one that I’ve seen with this issue. My wife also has a 2018 12.9 and her’s does not have this issue.
