iPad Pro iPad Pro 11 2020 bad screen light

Hey everyone I just got my hands on a 2020 ipad pro 11. Great device. But when i started reading an ebook on white background, i noticed some weird „shades“ at the edges of the screen. (see screenshot)

I did a little research on that topic and found out that there are a many flaws concerning dirrent ipad types.

Can anyone give me a guess whether the amount of shadow is acceptable or not?

That looks like an uneven backlight to me.

I have pretty much the exact same display as you... also wondering whether this was common. I’m also wondering whether I’m imagining a warmer strip on the bottom (in that phot and on my device) than on the top (or left vs right if in portrait).

The patches are particularly noticeable when scrolling through pages with white content on anything but maximum brightness. When your eyes are looking towards the middle of the screen, the light/dim areas become especially obvious in peripheral vision. If it’s normal I’ll have to try and ‘un-see’ it.

Until a white spot appeared on my iPad Pro 10.5”, I’d had no discernible display issues with any of my previous iPads.

Exchange it if you’re not happy, my ipp 11 2nd gen does not have this. I upgraded from a 10.5 ipp and my 11 is the best lcd screen I have ever seen.

FWIW I exchanged mine and the new one is exactly the same. While I find the corner 'shadows' distracting when scrolling, I guess it's just how it rolls with this display (or I'm just unlucky).

Quick update: I also had mine replaced and the new one also has shadows at the very same location but less pronounced. Still not sure if I wanna keep it...

I asked about this problem in a hungarian forum, they said they dont't have this problem.
You replaced it with Apple warranty?

You Know to each its own. You are free to take a call on this. But this is one of the better looking Uniform Screens that I have seen. Maybe you may have the luck of getting it replaced. But a little bit of Backlight Bleeding is very common and a lot of people say is acceptable. I will give you an example the other day I was searching for an External Monitor on Amazon and I came across a Beautiful Monitor from LG with 4K resolution and what not the same IPS Panel like the iPad Pro. But there was one guy there who had posted a picture complaining he sees backlight bleeding and find is not uniform. I mean there is no way you are gonna find a perfect IPS display. I mean that is not the nature of IPS panel with the technology it uses. It is like saying I wish the colour of water was a little more darker than just being transparent. How is that gonna be possible ? I mean I dont know how long you have been here but I have been on this forum since the iPad third generation was released back in 2013 and I have seen so many guys who used to be Torch Bearer of this problem finally giving up as they understood How IPS technology works. This was a Big issue back then, and perhaps is also every Year Apple releases new iPad but it is like a wave which first comes and then settles down on its own Lot of People say there is always this section of Naysers who will keep cribbing when new device is launched and the again go silent once they realize this is how Life is lol !!
