Yesterday I got my new iPad and have charged it overnight. Unfortunately, it won‘t charge over 80 percent, an issue I did not have with my previous iPads. Unlike on the iPhone, there is no such thing as a button that allows you to turn off optimized battery charging. Compared to my old iPad Pro (2018) the back of the new iPad felt quite a bit warmer, albeit not really hot. Temperatures here in Germany are also not very high right now, so I can basically rule out an overheating protection that might have kicked in.

Anyone out there with similar issues? Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance!

0) The iPad does not have the Optimized Charging feature, so it can be eliminated as a possibility.

1) Reboot it and see if the battery meter remains at 80%. I've seen them get "stuck" before and not display the actual charge level until rebooted.

2) If it remains at 80%, then do a "hard" reboot, and try again.
