Here a question I have iPad Pro 11 inch 64 GB I got.

my option was this year I get more storage on the iPhone or iPad and I choose iPhone because I store music and take photos plus video.

I just got 64GB iPad Pro 11 because I rarely put music or movies on my iPad just apps and no games.

my mom 64GB XR she has 38GB left with no music.

Will 64GB be enough ?

can I just get a WiFi portable Wifi drive that I can connect my 1TB drive and share that storage with my iPad and MacBook Pro ?

If I had WiFi 64GB would be ok. I store movies for this reason and plus I got the 512Gb for $130 over MSRP of the 64GB model. If you have WiFi you can live with it but if you do think you’ll use more maybe get the 256gb model since it’s $200 off.

I was thinking getting the rave power WiFi drive and connect my segate drive to store anything I need.

You can do that but I've found that WiFi portable drive transfers are slow. If you can live with that, then it will work for you.

I will try that.

Wouldn’t iOS 14 and any other updates get bigger ?

If you don't already have a wireless drive, consider a wireless FileHub -

I have one and it's great to be able to switch storage out with it. I generally use a 4TB portable drive with it.

It is certainly possible that OS updates will be larger.

Until iPad replaces my Mac I’m going with the lowest storage tier offered. Trade in doesn’t pay more for higher storage and I use iCloud anyway so it’s a total loss if I buy and sell frequently unless I go CL or whatnot which is interesting...

I have the Ravpower Filehub, and it works fine with the videos I tested with, and they load up almost instantaneous. Only con about the Filehub is that you have to use their app (from app store) as the device isn't detected in the Files app on iOS. Or, you can use the web address to access your files, but I never tried that.

Overall, if you can find a use for the Filehub, it works well and I haven't run into any problems. Haven't tried the other uses for it, such as the travel router, or powerbank features.

I've owned every version of it from Ver 1. I usually use FileBrowser with it - you can make an SMB connection and access all attached storage.

I've used the bridge functions in hotels that limited Internet connections and have had to use the Ethernet connection to create a wireless network in older places without wireless. I've tried the powerbank and it works but I prefer to leave it to power the FileHub.

I doubt I'll use it too much these days - with iPadOS I connect a USB-C hub to my 12.9 Pro. But I'll still take it along traveling, just in case ...

Edit - regarding speed, I can stream my videos just fine copying data to/from attached storage is slow, around 5Mbps. I posted a review on it a while back -
