iPad Pro USB-C port issue
Something to look out for when you get a new iPad Pro. Got mine last week and wanted to charge it for the first time. Plugged in USB-C cable and...nothing happens. Unplugged and plugged it in the other way...charges immediately. Tried the USB-C cable and charger from my old 2018 iPad Pro, same...forums.macrumors.com

You think so ?I would recommend getting the device replaced. A loose port can cause connection issues.
On my second IPP and have thankfully not run into that issue (knock on wood).
You think so ?
I trued other products like a Nintendo switch and battery bank both have loose ports so idk now .I have had loose USB-C ports on laptops and either fixed them or had them replaced - they usually caused connection issues. Don't see a loose port on an iPad being much different.
No, it isn't normal. Get it replaced.Doesn’t explain much is it normal ?
This replacement i has the issue does replacing fix the problem.I have had loose USB-C ports on laptops and either fixed them or had them replaced - they usually caused connection issues. Don't see a loose port on an iPad being much different.
I can post a video of issue if that helps. That really sucks.
That said, IPP 12.9 G2, I went through a total of 5. (original and 4 replacements)
On the other hand my IPP 11 has been rock solid.
Sounds like you are having a bad streak of luck with this. Wish I had a better answer than just "do it again ..." 😣
here
I tried two cables apple and another brand same issue but it’s working fineWhen I look at your video ...
I have a cable from Anker that fits snug and does not flex or wiggle. It snugs tight against the iPad frame and almost "clicks" into place.
I have another from Cabepow that shows the same as yours in terms of flex and fit.
Both are braided cables.
Both work for my IPP and MB.
If it does not cause any charging issues or data transfer problems ... maybe it is good as is?
