So I have the 9.7 iPad and I like to watch shows on my side when I’m laying in bed. I like holding it with one hand while laying on the side. How’s the iPad 11 inch for laying in bed? Will I have any problems?

another question is the bending, have you experienced your iPad Pro being bent?

I hold my 11 inch in bed all the time. That...came out wrong.

nah dude the 11inch pro size wise is the same dimensions as the 10.5 iPad. And that iPad was just a hair bigger than the 9.7. So you should be good

and the bending issue was overblown. I wouldn’t worry about it. Just treat your 11incher like you would any other expensive thing in your life

You definitely will not have any problems due to the smaller size.

+1 I use my iPP 11" in bed all the time, including watching videos in landscape mode, both on my stomach or on my side leaning diagonally with one corner on the bed. Works great

11" iPad Pro can be easily used in bed (although I prefer a iPad Mini) compared tot he 12.9"

Having both the 12.9 and 11, even the former is comfortable for bed use. I found even with the 11 i tended to rest it on my stomach while reading for an extended period of time. Same with my 12.9. Not heavy by any means, but holding anything over your face for an extended period of time gets fatiguing when there’s an easy solution. Even my Pro Max gets fatiguing if I try in that that position for a long time.

This is a little off topic, but I started with one of those foam pillows that you can flip to get three different angles but when I put it on my stomach, I have to tilt my head too much. I just got in iBeani one that has the foam beads and it is great because you can put the device at different heights and different angles, whatever you need to get comfortable. They’re a bit pricey for what they are, but I’m happy with mine.

Thanks for mentioning - I hadn't heard of this before, but just looked into it. I agree it's a bit expensive for what it is, but boy could I use it! It could also be a dual-function for when my kids want to use their iPad to watch videos - often it's in weird positions so the standard iPad stand doesn't put things in a great viewing position, and I worry about their posture / neck pain. I've had to get into all sorts of stand gymnastics, propping books and toys underneath the iPad stand to try and get better angles... I might just pull the trigger on this.

For me, even with two pillows under my chest, I find the iPad Pro 11 to be a bit "big" - I have to prop myself up with my elbows. I don't have to do this with my iPhone. But if you're reading it on the side, that's one way to do it.

I've had my iPad Pro 11' (2018) since February. My wife and I have not had issues with bending with these iPads.

I use my tablet lying on my back in bed too. But looking at the ibeani it doesn't seem that it could hold the tablet vertical enough without it toppling off. Is something holding it upright? I didn't read the description and reviews, just looked at its picture, as I'm just on my little cell phone right now...

You scrunch the thing around so that the beads support it at the angle you choose. If it’s on your stomach or chest, you’re going to be holding it within one hand, more than likely, but touching it is way different from supporting it. I’ve only used it with my Mini 5 and my Kindle Oasis 1, but with the iPad 11, I’d position it lower on the iBeani, for the other two, higher. I used it a good bit last night and really like it because it does the “heavy lifting”.

Here are a couple of pictures from Amazon. You just smoosh the thing around to hold the iPad at the angle and height you prefer. 5B7A4697-7BB6-4225-B6B3-CC2CF43E73E5.jpeg3E0D5E01-0CC3-44F7-9640-593B09F35C39.jpeg

Lying on my back i like the tablet near to vertical. I think I better stick with the one I have now, the "Infiland multiple angle stand cover support"

I have been using the iBeani for 2 weeks now and I really like it. I no longer have to rest the ipad on my stomach and it will hold my IPP nearly vertical without issue.

Never seen an iBeani before but I want one.

I have a Mini in a case but have still woken to find it down the side of the bed a few times. Guessing I would still be ok to use it on an iBeani with the case still on?

I use mine with the case on. I was worried it wouldn’t keep the iPad vertical which is the way I like to watch, but it does.
