My new 12.9" doesn't seem to have any play like this. Is it only 11"?

If you don’t like the click sound when you click the power button, you can turn it off in Settings -> Sound -> Lock Sound

Oh it’s not an audio click, it is literally a physical click sound you can hear when you rub the wake button side to side

11" IPP here and my power button is solid as a rock...no clicking and no side to side play.

Damn it all. The screen is perfect - an apple employee told me it was a perfect screen - so trying to be ok with the little click thing. Not an issue at all. Just more of an OCD issue haha

I hear ya...I tend to notice stuff like that too...but I would take a perfect screen over almost any other slight inconsistency. My old 10.5" had a perfect screen, but slightly "creaked" when I grabbed the left side in just the right spot in landscape. I quickly forgot about it and enjoyed the perfect screen. I am not sure I would play the "screen lottery" trying to fix the power button.

Agree. Here’s my screen -

I wonder what causes the creaking, I returned my iPad Pro 11, first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box typing on the right side of the keyboard or touching on the top right corner it would creak, guess I just got a bad one.

It will always be darker near the side since it's the nature of the "liquid retina", pixels are darker there.
What exactly does it has to do with "liquid retina" as a technology? Liquid retuina means rounded corner with sub-pixel antialiasing, but except for that it's still a regular IPS display. Poor LED backlighting is poor. Speaking for my own Pro 11", it does have fine uniformity.

The buttons do slide a little, but I couldn't care less.

My 12.9 has a slight wiggle as well. Doesn’t bother me in the least, the button works just fine - I wouldn’t let it bother you.

My 10.5” creaks all the time when picking it up one handed in landscape mode. It started not long after purchase. I just assume the glue isn’t perfect inside and the weight opposite of my hand is shifting the internals or something. Most iPads I’ve owned have had the issue but it doesn’t affect the actual use of it so I’ve learned to ignore it.

Same with the power button, due to tolerances, some will not be tight fitting and some will wear over time to be looser. Nothing is wrong with the button.

Just ignore the issue with a 919€ iPad? Hum...

It’s a physical button, why wouldn’t it have a physical click sound? I don’t see the problem.

When moving side to side, not the actual pressing of it. Pressing should have a click. Side to side seems suspect haha. Not an issue. Keeping mine given I got a perfect screen - not going to risk doing the screen lottery.
