Hey Family,

I just received the new iPad Pro 11” yesterday. I got everything set up, had 13gb in “system storage” last night. However, this morning, it shot up to 49gb!!! Do you have an idea, why this happened? EVERYTHING is not stored on the device!

SLOVED - iMessage in Cloud, were being downloaded to the iPad. I just turned off iMessages, and that was the fixed. I rather not use iMessage on the iPad, if I can help it!

I am having the same problems... also got the 64gb version with only about 15gb of space used by apps. However, system is taking up 27.6gb. Any chance to delete most of those files? I am fine with 64gb, but I do import about 32gb of photos for a limited period as a backup while on vacation, therefor this would be a problem :/

I didn’t think, we would be running into this issue. I think it has to do with iCloud backing up the system and some local files on the iPad. I still haven’t found a “good” solution yet, other than deleting the messages app. — for me, I usually upload the photos to my iPhone, only because I the 256 GB and have iCloud Photos turned on. It works for me and everything is synced to all devices. That might be fixed for traveling/vacation.
