Hello,
I have an out-of-warranty iPad Pro with a problem that's always bothered me. But I'm wanting to sell it now and get the new one so I want to see how I need to advertise this issue. I also have an appointment with a Genius for Friday, but thought I'd look for some advice beforehand. In the past, I haven't had great experiences at the Genius Bar so just thought I'd do my homework!
So here's my screen. The pic is difficult to see the problem unless you treat it like one of those games where you have to take your eyes out of focus etc. It's basically a purple / blue smudge looking thing under the screen. It's really only visible on a white screen. Which means I usually see it on a blank canvas when I'm about to draw.
I showed it to a buddy and he said his 5s did this because of battery swelling. I checked the location of the batteries on the iPad Pro 12.9 and wouldn't you know it, where this line smudge is, is right on the edge of the bottom battery. So it seems very possible that this is the cause. I was wondering if anybody else had had a problem like this or might know of alternative theories for the cause. I haven't really seen anybody else complaining about the same issue so I don't think it's too widespread unless I'm using the wrong search terms.
Nothing else with the device has problems. Doesn't overheat, no bulging that I can see. So I'm not sure. Just thought I'd see what you all think while I wait for an appointment.
