hi guys haven't been on here for sometime but had to post this ..any how I bought a 12.9 pro in 2016 and went though a lot of them ,all of them had a yellow tint and were very uneven ..nothing to do with true tone and all the other things..apple use lg.sharp.and Samsung.its a panel lottery you can be lucky and get an lg which to me has the best white point and also the colour temp is slightly cooler..im really picky ..in the end I got one but wasn't really happy as it was yellow tint ..ok I have lived with it and not really used the ipad much .so I see the new 2018 ipad pro and notice no yellow tint threads so it got me thinking maybe the first batch are going to be lg displays and I think im correct,and befor anyone shouts out apple isn't for me than the point is I love the apple pencil ,I have Wacom and love that to but sketching on the go the pencil is the best.anyhow I bought the 12.9 from amazon for £1069 saving a couple of pennys lol.not cheap device .I has heard about the bends in the ipad and noticed the one I got has a slight bend..not a deal breaker for me .the screen is close to my 10.5 inch which uses an lg panel so nice white point but the 10.5 to me eyes is better .the old 12.9 is not very good to be honest.the new one is good but to me not far off my old one ..anyhow when I looked at the ipad I couldn't believe is has a dint in the case.. for this sort of money to me it is just beyond belive that apple quality control can let this though .I will be getting a full refund and have just purchased a 12.9 2017 edition with 512gb ..I already have the apple pencil and I don't mind not having the magnet like the new one...the reason im selling my old 12.9 is it doesn't have dci-3 colour gamut like the 10.5 and the new and 2017 model ..the difference in procreate if you enable it is beyond words ..reds look red not orange and greens and yellow are so vibrant ..im annoyed with apple its a love hate relastionship love the apple pencil but at the prices I excpect better quality control

Put any two screens side by side and they will look different. Every time.
fair comment chabig .but I have nec and eizo pro screens and they look the same ..in a different bracket to the ipad as these are very expensive coulour accurate screens ..and also if you ever try the surface book 2 or the new surface I can put the screens next to each other and they all are the same panel ..the 13inch book 2 uses a superb Panasonic panel and the 15 inch I think uses a lg..the ipads are all over the place..but the 2018 did seem much more uniform which is nice to see

Absolutely agree with the last post, what is the main point of this thread ? is it the yellow tint or the bump on the iPad ? If it is the Yellow Tint, from all the pictures that you have attached here, I find the 2018 iPad Pro to be the coolest of all, I do not see any yellow tint in that !!
So wait, was the iPad you had... bent, yellow, or was the 1.5x1.5mm dent the return reason? I understand if it’s a major bend or something, but if that dent was the only issue I’d have taken it over other imperfections.

it has a bend and the screen still has a yellow tint not as bad as the old one but still there

bend more than what is acceptable ,dint in the side of the ipad..
I have purchased the surface book 2 and also the surface laptop and the surface 6 and all perfect as far as dents and bends..how this ipad got out of the factory with a dint is beyond me ..

What did you use to post this thread? Does that device not have a shift key for capital letters etc? As far as Microsoft hardware goes it’s about a 50% failure rate for us so far, more unreliable than the cheapest Lenovo notebooks. 130 devices (surfaces pro and books) not a massive sample but incredibly annoying non the less, so much so that we no longer supply them to our clients. Only positive has been Microsoft replaced out of warranty units for free.

Once again, we can all conclude that the new iPad Pro 2018 certainly has some form of imperfections. Mostly, imperfections in the cosmetic fronts. Besides slight bends on the LTE models, there are various other flaws like the gap between the screen of the ipad pro 2018 and its frame. Mine have minor scratches out of the Pencil dock that came right with the set.
Certainly hope their QC levels can be improved in their future models because we have certainly seen better standards from Apple previously.

No WE all can’t. I’m not jumping on that bandwagon partnah. First production run 12.9 LTE 1TB SG with no imperfections, no scratches, no bends, no pencil marks, no burn marks, no partridge in a pear tree. And I’m not the only cat in the world with a perfectly fine production copy. This small user base this site has do not speak for the entire planet of people who use these machines. Some of you cats live in a bubble....

Truth to be told, I hope you read the support document that was release by apple. Affected models are for the LTE version.

In the note, Apple also points out that the "flatness specification" allows for no more than 400 microns across the entire length of any given side. It also says that "the new straight edges and the presence of the antenna splits may make subtle deviations in flatness more visible only from certain viewing angles that are imperceptible during normal use."

ipad pro 12.9 2018 256gb £1069 +pencil £120 +case zugu around £60 =£1249
ipad pro 12.9 2017 256gb +cellular £750 already have the pencil and my first gen zugu case fits the 2017 model so =£750
is the new ipad worth £499 difference....answer for me anyway is NO
ipad pro 12.9 2018 DCI-P3 and 120hz screen the same as the 2017 model zero difference.
ipad pro 12.9 2018 apple pencil 2 I don't like magnets near me like mobile phones .it my own personal opinion .the tip of the new pencil slightly matt compared to the old but they are much the same .
I just cant justify the speed difference...single core performance is proberly the key to using big brushes with no lag but I don't use massive brushes anyhow.from an art perspective this .anyway the new one has a very uniform screen and is I think an lg screen which is what I have been after for a long time..
