Hi, I noticed that my iPad rebooted by itself at least twice this evening for no reason. It is fully charged and plugged into the outlet all the time. Anybody has such problem? Is it better to bring it to Apple to replace it? Tried to request a return but the system keeps asking me to sign in using the apple id used to place the other. I only have one apple id.

Don't understand. What Apple ID was used to place the order? It is different from "I only have one apple id"?

How did you know it rebooted? Did you see it reboot?

My M1 iPad Pro 11 has rebooted itself a few times recently. How do I know? It asks for the pin and says: “On reboot pin required” or something like that. Can also use an app like: System Status: hw monitor.

I have had this iPad for 6 months now and only recently started noticing it, so I’m chalking it up to iPad OS issues.

If this is the only time it has happened, I wouldn’t worry bout it - we’re in the same boat. If it happens regularly and while you’re using it, definitely Apple Store checkup time.

Sorry in the poll, it should be 3 days rather than 3 weeks to reflect the issue I encountered yesterday. Please vote accordingly. Sorry again.

I did software update when I got it the first week of December. There is no iPad OS update since then. The device has been stable until yesterday (as far as I noticed). So I don't see it is iPad OS issue.

I noticed mine 4 days ago - hasn’t happened since then (or before then, lol).

So I’ll leave my vote 3 days - but just an FYI.

I asked Apple. They had no idea the cause. The guy I talked to said that even his iPad sometimes has strange issues. However, he has not encountered the issue mentioned here. He just said it "could be" software issue. I recall reading a post saying that iPad rebooting itself for no reason could be due to software issue or memory chip issue.

Another reason to buy Apple Care+. Who knows if it is a hardware or software issue? Whether it just happens a few times and disappear or more often from now on.
