I was curious for all the 12.9inch Pro users, how does a battery hold up on a daily basis, I'm curious as all the review sites use different metrics and I've seen 7 hours to 11 hours, now I'm just checking with you real people with real use. Please explain your main use and brightness level also if you use wifi and or Bluetooth.

It is all about the brightness level with the iPad Pro 12.9. If you keep the brightness down to half way or less, you will get 10+ hours easy. If you want the brightness up all the way, then you will get far less. I guess it's due to the size of the screen, but brightness seems to affect the 12.9 much more than other iPads or iPhones.

I keep my iPad at about 40% so looks like I'm good. Also, just curious does your iPhone 7 make you feel like the 12.9inch is a little slow? Have you noticed it ever struggling with all those pixels

Battery life on the pro is excellent, I get about ten hrs(brightness usually halfway)

Now CHARGING the battery on the other hand.....Jesus Christ, get yourself the USC-C cable and adaptor, If you just charge it overnight that's fine you won't notice of course but theres going to be times when that isn't an option and it's going to be incredibly frustrating

I don't have a 7 but there's nothing slow about the pro, it's a fantastic device, only other complaint I'd have (and it's nothing you won't have heard before) is the ridiculous waste of screen space, in fairness though once your browsing websites or watching movies or whatever that won't matter but when you see your home page with the blown up apps and huge gaps between them it is a bit annoying and just not taking advantage of the device......I'd consider it a miner complaint though really

I'm hoping iOS 11 will further utilize some of that space

My iPad Pro 12.9 battery life has been excellent and I can easily go through a whole day on a full charge.

Whole day? Day? Day? What the hell do you do with it? Mine lasts a week! Sometimes two if I have a busy one.

Charged Sunday evening now showing a cool 50%. Used every day and off at sleep time.

4-6 hours on mine. I have to use Upper brightness levels at my office and I use heavy usage patterns such as painting and image editing. I usually have to start fast charging mine before noon.

At lower brightness levels I get about what others are reporting

Both devices do everything almost instantly, so we are talking differences of microseconds here. The 12.9, even after being a year and a half old, is still the fastest computer that I've ever had. Apps open instantly and web pages load faster than any other device I've ever owned.

I had the same feeling when I got my Air 2 even today it's really quick although it's showing it's age for sure if you load up the processor with Spltview or try installing more than 1 app it'll take forever were as my iPhone 7 is just BOOM, Bang, Done

I highly recommend the 29W charger. It's been a life saver.
Awesome another stupid $80 accessory, serious though Apple needs to fix this in the next iPad Pro,even just a 15 watt would be good.

I have to charge mine every day. I use it as a replacement for my MBA. 8+ hours a day... approx. 50% remaining.

Fair enough. I'm nowhere near a Pro user but my MacBook will go nowhere.

At the weekend where I spend quality time online it's the MacBook on power. No faffing with charging.

Still after all these years it's a mobile OS and I wouldn't do work on my iPhone SE. Apple doesn't know best. It's a laptop replacement for my wife with Facebook, emails and browsing. Not me. YMMV.

While I've been able to modify some of my workflows to suit the capabilities of the iPad Pro, whatever cannot be done with iOS, I use Jump Desktop and a Citrix X1 mouse to access my iMac, in effect turning my iPad into a Macbook.

I use icloud drive to store my current working set of files which gives me seamless access to them on my iMac, iPad Pro, and Macbook Air. It's worked out extremely well, but I'd like to move more tasks so that they run natively on the iPad Pro.

Given that the 12.9" iPad can approach MacBook pricing, I think the 29W charger should be included in the box. Hopefully it happens when they update it.

I've heard about this Citrix X1 mouse, watching some videos of it now. Seems like it works quite well. Seems like a good device to have as a backup. Have you had good luck with using it?

My experience with Jump Desktop and the Citrix X1 has been terrific. When I have a great wifi connection (which is most of the time), I'm able to do quite a bit on the iPad Pro... including precise graphics work.

The only downside to this is that only Jump Desktop recognizes the mouse. There are other apps (and remote desktop clients) that I use on my iPad Pro that could benefit from having a mouse option.

Thanks. Watched some youtube clips on it. Looks great. I could really use something like that, but all the computers I currently remote into are Macs.

I've not changed my brightness or many other settings and I'm seriously getting 9 hours. Very satisfied. Wifi on all day. Occasionally, I use Bluetooth to use my Apple Pencil, but the battery remains steady with that.

I keep my brightness at 70-100%. Battery life is about 3-4 hours on average. Pretty awful. My Pro which I've had since January almost has more charge cycles than the iPad Air 2 when I sold it nearly 3 years after i bought it. Really hope they improve this with the next iPad Pro.

What exactly are you doing with it ? Cutting brightness to 50%, turning off Air Drop should help immensely along with turning off your background app refreshes and Siri

Mostly things like Netflix, which reviews like anandtech point out is definitely one of the weakest parts of its battery, and I love a bright screen so 50% really isn't an option :p, however I didn't think about any off the other things, I mostly use Siri on my phone anyways, I'll definitely turn them off and see if it improves, thanks!

Turning off Siri, Background App Refresh, Spotlight Indexing, AirDrop, and Location Services will most definetly help the situation. Using Touch ID I also notice will drain the battery slightly quicker.
