I have a first generation iPad pro 12.9" ( 2016). Two days ago, I updated the softwate to 11.4.1. Charged the iPad overnight. When I began using it the next day, I noticed it had 1 percent charge left. I tried to recharge it but to no avail. Tried every recommendation on the internet (restart, hard reset, restore via iTunes) but no luck. Apple genuis bar tested it and said they think it might be hardware issue. They estimated it wil cost me $600 to repair. Has anyone else had a problem with thwir iPad after they updated the software?

I don’t think you will find many people here who claim that a software update broke some hardware.
All the best for the repair though!

That's not very helpful. I have been researching this issue and many report having the same problem with their iphones and ipads after updating to 11.4.1. Apple won't admit software bugs until complaints mount. We've seen that happen with the iphone battery drain issue and the butterfly keys. Don't post on a thread if you plan on being dismissive. Just saying.

You might not find this helpful, but then again how many forum members have you seen posting that their battery BROKE after a software update? I think this may be a hardware issue, just like the genius told you, but it surely was not broken by downloading a new software.

Battery drain is a different story than battery not working.

Thanks for the kind words.

The link talks about a battery draining issue that was not resolved by the latest update. Not caused by it.

My understanding is that you claim to have a dead not charging battery since the update.

Why don't you stop trolling this thread and allow others with similar problems post here. Find something better to do other than being a jerk.

I've experienced the same issue right after 11.4.1 and my iPad was running flawless before the update. I know it's a software issue.

Careful for suggesting that, it may result in name calling as it doesn’t fit in the OP’s expectations. ;)
