I purchased Duet Display to use my iPad Pro 12.9 as a second screen with my iMac 5K late 2015. I am finding that the screen is blurry on the iPad, and text is pixelated. It is set to "iPad Pro Resolution". I read reviews that the screen was cristal clear. Can anyone offer advise?

I get that as well. I don't know what the compression is, but it seems to get worse when I am actively using the monitor of my laptop. I have just attributed it to being a MacBook Airf, but it is interesting to see that you are having the same problem.

Thanks for confirming. I wrote to the developers. If they cannot resolve it, I will ask my money back.

So anyone else has a similar or better experience with Duet?
I think there's more than one factors affecting the display quality. One is obviously the bandwidth limitation, another is iPP having an odd number of pixels.
I believe iOS is more effective in scaling to whatever number of pixels the display has than MacOS, so MacOS doesn't look as nice as iOS on same screen.

I received a reply from the developers of Duet app. Their response was that such is the limitation of Duet, and that they are ready to give me a refund.

Thank you so much for the updates! Are you taking the refund or holding on to see if the improvements are usable. I can imagine that there is some limitation going through USB

I asked for an ETA of the fix to help me decide to refund or not, I will update what they reply. Why not contact them as well, so they get more complaints.

Another update from the developer. They don't have an ETA, and it is very difficult to make the iPad Pro resolution work smoothly because of limitations, bit they are improving it.

As I need this app and got it at 50%, I will keep it and see what happens in the future.

Are there any alternatives anyone can recommend? I always read that this was the best for this type of app but it would be good to see if there were any comparable products out there.

giving this a bump as it is closest to the issue I'm seeing. When I use duet, I'm using it alongside a 13" MBP so ideally I'd like UI elements and text to be roughly the same size. The default setting is 'looks like 1680x1050' which is nice and crisp, but the UI is too small. If I choose 1440x900 then it looks more like the right size, but the text is dark and blurry. I don't think its artifacting, just bad scaling.

Is there no way to have a basic '2x' mode that would scale nicely on the ipad screen?
