it can be worth it if it‘s at least 128 cellular or even more 256 cellular... 32GB wifi should be under 250 and closer to 200....
just had a look on ebay and some other markets and there seems to be a sort of $300 dollar barrier for the 9.7 pro, under that you only find units in poor conditions or with cracked screens... Having said date you easily find 128 versions for $300. It seems to be a psychological barrier... I bought for cheaper a 32GB version but that was on an auction... (and resold it for a profit). As for 10.5, the psychological barrier seems to be at 400 but with some occasional purchases between 350 and 400... Under that it's units in poor conditions.... Again, you can get them for cheaper in an auction or if you wait long enough because sellers tend to overprice older models compared to newer ones... And the more you go down (air 2, air 1, ipad 4) the more they are overpriced compared to more recent models...

I was mostly worried that buying a 10.5” would be bad with that light spot above the home button issue folks are talking about.

Is that light spot a huge probability, or is it more like the crazy bengate conspiracy like with the iPP 3 in 2018, (where it was a bit overblown)?

You can be sure that someone will come here and contractid me... but the white spot is a relatively widespread issue, contrary to the overblown bendgate with the new IPP. And it's pretty ugly to he honest. It's not visible with dark mode, but most web pages are while (this blog is an exception), even when you use dark mode, so are office documents, again, even in dark mode.... So forget about using the ipad to read if you have the white spot (I use the 9.7 for that) and even just broswing can be annoying.... And without dark mode I would have already sold that ipad....

The 10.5 is a much better iPad than a 9.7" Pro, but at this point, for $300, I'd probably just buy the base model 10.2" iPad for similar money.

The difference between the two is night and day. The 10.5 still has a slightly better processor than the iPad 7. Just the 10X vs the 10 in the iPad 7.

10.5: 4 GB of RAM
7: 3 GB of RAM

10.5 is lighter and screen quality is better. Not to mention ProMotion.

You can get a good deal online somewhere for the 10.5.

But how do I find a 10.5” with no light spot/leak and an unscratched screen?
I’ll gladly pay $500-550+ if I could find someone selling a Pro 2 Rose Gold without any light bleed, warping, major damage, or scratches on the glass screen.
**I just don’t know where to look for a refurbished or new model of this in Rose Gold with hopefully no major issues. And with a good return policy. 😉🤦‍♂️😂

Nobody should by the 7 anyway, with the 8 coming next week....

Only from Apple themselves, but that does not guarantee that you will not have the white spot.... Anyway I would also wait for the Air 4. Some even say it might have quad speakers... It might not come next week like the ipad 8 but rumours seem to converge on it coming pretty soon anyway...

If it ever goes in stock again on Apple certified refurb, I believe the 256GB Wi-Fi model is even cheaper than that. Last I checked, the 64GB Wi-Fi was $379 or something.

No guarantees it won't ever develop a white spot, though. I don't know how prevalent the white spot issue is. Mine doesn't have it *knock on wood*.

My Pro 10.5's not eligible for monthly AC+ but I did get it for my Air 3 ($3.49) for peace of mind. It's something I would've gotten regardless as I like to use my electronics near water.

I had two 10.5“ Pros with the bright spot issue.

Ended up getting my money back and just stuck with my (very) old iPad.

Now using a 2020 11” iPad Pro, which is pukka.
