Hey everyone,

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 and I recently cracked the screen. Its not a huge crack, but it extends the whole screen and branches off in another area. Sometimes I don't notice it, sometimes it's very noticeable. In hindsight, I was seeing that apple care for iPads isn't that expensive... Next time I'll go that route lol.

But, getting it repaired on the apple store is like $600 or something...at that point I may as well buy a new one almost. Does anyone know if there are cheaper alternatives? Or even good tutorials to DYI?

let me know and thanks!

John

I had Gen 1 12.9 screen repaired while working in the Philippine. So I know the parts are out there. However, the repair never worked correctly. Touch sensitivities was nothing like normal. I’m pretty sure the screens are glued in and you may need other parts once you take the screen off. Of course, when I had mine “repaired”, I knew I was also making it were Apple wouldn’t work on it even if I wanted to pay the $600. That was the one and only iPad Pro that I didn’t have AC on. Never again. If the crack isn’t bad... maybe try putting a screen protector over it. A small crack may be better than a broken iPad.
