I usually keep my Pencil attached to the iPad whenever I am not using it, and this includes when I charge it over night. I’ve noticed the next morning, the Pencil needs to be picked up from the side, and then placed back for it to pair back, otherwise it seems to have lost the connection if I try to write with it before placing it back for a second. The iPad doesn’t turn off or anything over night. Is this normal behavior?

I’ve seen this as well, not really bothering me as it’s so quick and easy fixed. It might get ironed out in a future update.

Just a shot in the dark, but do you ever turn your Bluetooth off? I’ve never had a disconnect that I can tell of.

Tom

Never turn bluetooth off. I guess it's just an odd thing as I can repair it back in an instant after plopping it back down. Hopefully it'll get resolved in a software update. Thanks.

I dock the pencil the same way you do and I’ve neverr had this happen. I use the ipad only at the “office” and when I’m done it goes in my backpack unti the net day. I turn it off with the pencil in the magnetic position and when I turn on the tablet, the pencil is there ready to be used. No need to re-pair or re-attach it to make it connect. 12.9 1tb SG LTE
