Hey, guys I was curious if any of you experienced any screen flex issues on your 2018/2020 pro models. I am coming from a 2018 regular iPad with apple pencil and was quite surprised how much flex I was receiving on the 2020 11" pro.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

On my 2018 iPad Pro, I can actually feel the screen flex in one of the corners.

Same. I didn’t even have to apply much pressure at all. I’m careful with my iPad anyway so I’m not concerned. But kind of an issue, especially with the 2020 model.
Agreed, coming from the base 2018 gen 6 this was such a weird sensation feeling the bend at such little pressure. definitely an adjustment to say the least. I guess if your devices are still functional I cannot complain then

This is probably a dumb question but that feels like all glass, right? No plastic? My 2018 doesn’t do this at the center of the screen.

It definitely feels much softer than the glass on the older / non-pro display iPads I can give you that for sure. I am under the impression that Apple is using thinner glass in the pro devices attributing to these bending sensations. This also happened on the regular 6th gen but the amount of pressure that required was much higher.

My 2018 doesn't look like that, but it is a very different feeling than the 2018 regular iPad you are coming from.
I'm wondering if the matte screen protector is exacerbating the effect we see on video? I wrote a lot using pencil on my old iPad so I didn't hesitate to install one on this guy as soon I took it out of box.

Here we go again.

Not intending to be annoying, just curious if I need to go through with a potential replacement or if this is a universal problem.
Your guaranteed to get burned by some members here who don't want anything negative said about Apples latest and greatest. I appreciate you for posting this query as it gives me pause for thought on a new purchase.

Sadly I avoided the 2018 pros due to the lack of internal structural support on all the weak points that Apple saw fit to add to the chassis. I've waited a long time for the 2020 version and can see its the same chassis design, still no internal support. Now I can see a strong negative for the thin glass design. 🙄

At this point I may just opt for an ipad mini 5.

Have you compared it to the 2018 Pro and other iPads side by side?
I doubt Apple would use different glass/let alone cheaper, as returns would occur more often I feel.
I am sorry your’s has issues though.
i just hope my iPP 3 continues to be awesome, but things like this worry me. I wig out when issues are found, as I then stress if maybe mine is imperfect or has the same issue that I just didn’t notice until now. 😬😬😬

I just checked mine. It does something similar. I also just checked my original iPad Air 2 which I used for almost 6 years, and it does the same. So I’d say it’s a non issue.

My 10.5" Pro does the exact same thing. Never noticed it until now and hasn't been an issue in the ~2 years I've been using it.
