I am interested in purchasing an IPad Pro 2020 11”. I’m really interested in the T2 Security Chip and Security Enclave these models now come with. Any information in layman’s terms on how these functions work or how they’re different than the IPad 7rh generation I have currently?
Thanks

The Secure Enclave is there, but I think the T2 chip is reserved for Intel Macs.

That's a poorly written article. There is no T2 chip in the iPad, per se.

That's because the T2 is derived from the A10, so it is processor in its own right, running an embedded OS (BridgeOS), and acts as a secondary processor in Macs.

The security elements of the T2, described in this document, are inherent parts of the A-series processor, so there is no need for a discrete "T2 chip" in iDevices.

Now, that wasn’t very helpful. I guess I need Apple’s feedback link because they need to know what you think.

Forbes is vetted as producing pieces

although not particularly technical do report on recent updates and releases with some accuracy.

my question was more related to why would a security conscious User want this on an iPad? How does it improve my experience opposed to my iPad 7 th generation?

thank you. I usually do take a good amount more time to better my sources. My mistake.
cheers

It also seems in my day’s research, that although it does indeed have it. There are reports of some vulnerabilities .
