Hello Everyone.

I have at issue I can’t figure out by my self.

I have at iPad Pro 2022 model and I want to connect a portable external display so i bought a Lenovo ThinkVision M14T

But when I connect it to the iPad with cable what Lenovo provides I can only get Mirror screen to work.

I can’t get dual screen to work where I can work on the iPad and have mail on the external monitor what am I doing wrong ?

My understanding of this is very vague and I’m sure someone will chime in with the right info, but here is my understanding of the current state of things.

The default behavior for iPad with external display is to mirror the iPad display as you are doing.

Certain apps do offer a separate view on the second screen from what is on the main screen, but this has to be baked in to the app. I think Keynote for example can show presenter notes on the iPad display while the presentation is playing on the external display.

With the new Stage Manager feature, the latest iPads will be able to use the external display for different apps than the iPad display, but that feature is not available yet.

Can you describe what you are trying to do with the external display in more detail?

I’m trying to work with safari on the iPad and email on the external display.

What do you mean?
I have the newest iPad and iPad OS so I should be able to do this.

Have you turned a stage manager on? It’s in the control Center.

The external display features of iPadOS and Stage Manager aren’t enabled in version 16.1. The beta of 16.2 does restore these features, but they may still not show up in 16.2 when it’s released either.

Thank you. This was my assumption but I haven’t been following the betas this time around.

FrankMich, what you are trying to do should work great once the feature is enabled in (hopefully) the 16.2 update.
