Rumors say no oled display until 2024, so what can set expect from 2023? Maybe no update at all?

My guess would be M3, better cameras, landscape FaceTime camera, maybe wireless charging, no design changes. Also maybe an update to the Magic Keyboard with the patents floating around Internet. No Magic Keyboard Folio.

Another minor update probably, which just shows how awesome the M1 iPad Pro was.

M3. I don’t see them doing the landscape camera until they do OLED.

I can easily Apple implementing M3 + landscape camera + minor redesign next gen (2023) and then keeping OLED for the generation after (2024).

It's normal for Apple to release upgrades in trickles.

Don't know if it will happen, but I'd love to see a landscape camera, improved local dimming zones (either OLED or an improved mini LED screen), an update to the Magic Keyboard with a function keys row, a better battery life. I like the current form factor overall so I would not want dramatic design changes, but maybe some slight changes to make it look a bit different would be nice, or new colors.

There are rumors about support for wireless charging, but the value of that will depend on the implementation. I would much prefer a Mac-like MagSafe port on the side, in addition to the Thunderbolt port, than having a MagSafe puck on the back or something like that. A better processor like M3 is always welcome, but it is certainly not a concern for most people as chips are already pretty good in iPads

I don't know how iPads Pro can get any better hardware wise really

There will be no iPad pro in 2023, the cycle is around 18 months, at least for the current sizes.
Larger sizes may come earlier but I doubt they'll come any earlier, so I guess it will be early 2024 for the current and future larger sizes (probably with OLED)

There won't be an update to the 12.9" and 11" Pros next year. All the things you see rumored for 2024 - that's what's going be in the next iterations, probably coming in March or April of that year.

I think we'll see redesigned 11" / 13" / 16" iPads with OLED screens and M3 processors in the Spring of '24.
That’s very hopeful, like the best update they can deliver, which makes me doubt it even more. I think more years have to pass before we get anything significant.

Landscape faceid
M3
16GB RAM base with option for 32GB
Improved display (not OLED as OLED is not nearly as good as folks think.)
the display will have Mini-LED still, but have less blooming and perhaps brighter and darker.
slightly thinner bezels
newest Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular
thinner
better speakers somehow
2 USBc inputs or magsafe
bigger display model

i can’t think of anything else as the M1 and now M2 are already beyond overkill with current technology hardware. I feel Apple is upgrading just for laughs and giggles (and cause they have to keep the iPad relevant.) but Sinceriously, the iPads are so beyond powerful and have amazing tech and features it’s hard to say… Samsung tablets or any other tablets are still far behind the 4-year old 2018 iPad Pro So Apple doesn’t need to really do anything for the next 5-years, lol.

I think they will go bigger, maybe redesign it? Not sure how though? I mean I take my M1 11” Pro out of its case and am always stunned at its industrial design. Bezels are a good size, it’s thin enough any thinner and it’ll bend even more easily. I guess add a MagSafe charging port on the side, but it may be pointless. Only upgrades I think will be the screen and internals. And a 15” or bigger model.
Next big step will be a foldable iPad.
