ipad pro and apple pencil problem ios 10.1.1

I updated my ipad pro to ios 10.1.1 a few days ago, last night i needed to charge my apple pencil wich had 34% of battery left, ween i plug it to the ipad the ipad didn't charged it but in fact discharged it to 0%. I unplugued it and pluged it again, it started charging but the battery values were crazy going from 11% to 65% back to 0% up to 30 someting and kept acting crazy like this, i decided to charge the pencil on the iphone charger, no problem there. back with 100% charge.
has anyone notece this ?

That is weird indeed.
I often charge it at my desktop in a nice dock during the night, so I won't have that problem.
I am curious if apple wil ever update the pens firmware. I am sure they could if they wanted. Matter of fact they did so on the Smart Keyboard via the smart connector.
