Zorn macrumors 65816 Feb 14, 2006 1,147 841 Ohio Jun 11, 2017 #2 Microsoft has a strange requirement that Office is free to use on any iPad less than 10". So the current 9.7" it's free, for the 12.9 and upcoming 10.5, you will have to be a subscriber to use it.
