Hello, Is there any downside to getting the 1TB iPad Pro over the 512 GB version? I'm aware the 1TB iPad Pro has more RAM. But does all the extra storage and memory, differences in the chip etc have any impact on the **battery life?**

It ought to not have any meaningful difference. You're only adding an additional GPU core. For RAM and storage, you are using different chips that use roughly the same power consumption.
The extra RAM, storage, and GPU core will not have A noticeable impact on battery life. There likely won’t even be a noticeable difference in performance tbh. The 1TB with the extra RAM may at some point be in a better shape compared to the 512 GB model with lower RAM, but by the time iPadOS is even mature enough to take advantage of that additional RAM, it may be time to upgrade anyway.
I am unaware of any noticeable differences in battery life regarding 1TB vs 512GB model. Similarly, I don’t know where that notion of higher capacity storage consumes noticeably more power coming from. If someone wants to use microscope and highly accurate oscilloscope and/or meters then maybe There will be a difference. Other than that, all I can see is upsides. Your screen turning on full brightness for a long period would have a far bigger impact than “bigger storage”.
