I have ordered an iPad through Best Buy the day they were announced. Even so, my order confirmation states it ships by Nov.11. Is it customary for Best Buy to send products so late? I checked on apple.com and they still deliver Oct.26.
 
It's possible Best Buy doesn't have an exact date - they'd rather show late and deliver early rather than claim the 26th and then not get it to you on time.

For what it's worth, last year some customers who ordered from Best Buy and Amazon with estimated delivery on release date received their M1 iPad Pro orders later than those who ordered direct from Apple (even ones quoted 1-2 weeks later delivery on apple.com).

Best Buy is reliant on Apple and I noticed during launch, they prioritize their own stores and don't provide much stock to authorized retailers.

I'm guessing Best Buy has learned its lesson from that so they no longer guarantee release date delivery.
 
I pre-ordered an 11" iPad Pro 256 this morning and it shows a ship date of 10/26. Not that it means it will actually ship out that date, but at least it states it will...

Same. I ordered on 10/19 and received a ship date of 10/26. I don’t anticipate demand being high for this model … dates are still showing 10/26 pickup on Apple’s store.

Amazingly, the 12.9”, cellular, 1TB iPad shows as “sold out” on Best Buy’s website.
 
When your order was confirmed, was your “ship by” date estimated to be today?

I just got notification from Apple that my iPad has shipped and will be delivered tomorrow. Ten minutes later I got an email from UPS that a label has been created and will be delivered tomorrow by 7PM as well. I ordered the iPad from the Apple site last Friday.
 
I ordered from BB on 10/19… just got the tracking number, but says it’ll ship tomorrow
 
Looks like next day is now an option

To my pleasant surprise, today I got the tracking number for my iPad (instead of Nov. 11).
