Can someone summarise what the fastest way to charge an iPad Pro is?

Im asking because I have an 29W apple charger that I've been using to charge my iPad Pro's and its perfect.

I recently brought a MacBook Pro 15" 2018 that comes with a 87W charger.

I want to know if it can charge the iPads fast with the 87W? If so, ill sell the 29W and get another 87W so it covers both use cases.

Thanks in advance.

How important is the cable in this? I have a 3rd party USB-C to Lightning cable and can’t tell if fast charging is working or not.

I purchased a 3rd party USB-C cable that killed the fast-charge operation with my 29W charger - the cable must be USB 3.0 compatible or it will become a bottleneck and charge not much better than the 12w that comes in the box.

I think for iPad Pro charging prob not unless you have a really bad quality on

Its doesn't need to be USB 3.0. I have an Anker cable that is USB-C to C USB 2.0 and it allows throughput of 60w when I use the 87W Apple charger. It just depends on the cable - you have to check what its capable of.

The 87 watt won’t charge any faster than the 29 watt one will. So may as well keep the 29 watt.
