Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions for iPad games for long train journeys - so something which does not require an Internet connection.

I'm open on genre but love the idea of a decent strategy game - something like age of empires or red alert would be perfect. Everything I've looked at seems to be free but riddled with in app purchases which I'd like to avoid. Happy to pay up front for something to kill the time.

Finally something which is optimised for the screen size of the iPad pro would be a big bonus. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

You might want to try Heroes of Might and Magic 3. It's really a classic and I'd say it's worth every penny.

I had no idea...awesome!

I found my disc last year and tried to play it but it wouldn't work on newer Windows.

Not the same as those you've posted but ticket to ride is a strategy game and works offline - I really enjoy it :)

Have purchased HoM 3 so will see how it goes, it's not a series I've played before but I've heard good things. Will definitely have a look at Baldurs Gate after, and ticket to ride looks like something different and interesting _ if not the best way to forget I'm on a train for hours on end ;) thanks for the tips guys
