iPad Pro iPad Pro M1 screen auto brightness too dark?

Hi all, I feel like the auto brightness on my new iPad Pro is too dark when using it in a room with dimmed ambient light. During the day it seems to be fine. I tried Accessibility -> Auto Brightness off / on but no change. Anyone dealing with the same?

He has the 11 per other post. On my m1 11 I just pull down the meny from the upper right corner and raise the brightness if the sensor get the reading wrong. It happens for instance if the iPad is angled down in a semi lighted room reading on the sofa.
