iPad Pro iPad Pro Magic Keyboard--Good for Portability and Using on Your Lap?

Hi,

I'm blown away by the Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro and want to get one. Unfortunately the videos all show it being used on a desk. I was just wondering if there were any thoughts on using it on your lap since I have a MacBook and that is always how I use that.

I don't have any real spot to put a desk in my place and stopped using desktop computers years ago actually.

Pretty sure its used on a lap in one of the commercials. So should work fine.

I'm interested in seeing how portable it is too. I have a feeling looking at it that it's not capable of folding completely back and is probably pretty heavy, so I doubt that I'm the right audience for it. It's very functional looking as a desk companion, but frankly I have a MBP and an iMac for desktop computing. I have been happy with my Smart Keyboard folio so I wouldn't have normally looked at this at all except for the trackpad.

You are correct. In the commercial titled “How to use a computer”, the girl lies down on a couch with the iPad and keyboard toward the end, but because of the poor lighting, it’s difficult to see how it’s effectively being used. I tried to freeze the frame many times but still couldn’t see it well.

I watched the "How to use a computer" add again and it shows the girl with the iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard on her lap a couple of times.

I'll personally will most likely get it, put a decal skin on it, and wait for an aftermarket bumper or slim case for the Magic Keyboard. I did the same thing with the iPad Pro 11 Keyboard Folio (attached a picture). It made it look a lot better (personal taste obviously).
