Does anyone know of an iPad Pro PDF app that lets me CROP the page?

Goodreader - great app for PDF editing and managing PDF docs

I used to love Goodreader, I thought they abandoned the app wen the didn’t update to 64bit, so I moved on to PDF Expert. I did notice that Goodreader finally updated recently, to me it looks awful. Do you like the new version?

As to the OP’s question. I’ve never seen the ability to crop a page in editing tools I’ve used in Goodreader and now PDF Expert. I can rearrange and delete pages but never seen a crop feature. Wouldn’t cropping make the pages different sizes with the same documents? That would drive my “OCD” nuts.

I use it almost daily - I like the new version better than the old version - been using it since 2010 - it is one of the apps I use the most for work on my ipad for managing files and editing them on the fly.

It does crop and you can undo the crop later if you don't save it as a new file.

That’s cool. Good to hear it’s working out well for you. I didn’t know about the crop feature. I was a longtime user as well. The college I teach at used Goodreader to manage or course material. We went through several versions of it. However, when they didn’t update for a long while we started looking for alternatives. Then when they didn’t update to 64bit by Apples deadline we moved all of our iPads and iPhones away from them. I looked over them after they finally updated. Colors and reviews didn’t seem good. Looks like they’re back to getting better reviews now. Which is great.

Thanks for the info on the cropping.

It lets you crop, and then save that crop os is the crop just for viewing? I need to be able to crop, save that, and print it. Not just a view crop, but real page crop.

You are correct - it is a viewing crop - it does not save the crop when exporting

You can do a screen capture of the crop - if that helps?

Can't seem to find a PDF app anywhere on the AppStore that has a real page crop. They are all much the same.

I did not notice the cropping was not saved until I tested it today - looks like it is only for viewing and does not save or when emailed the crop is not on the file that is emailed.

Also did not know about the 64 bit - just kept updating as time went by and I guess I was blissfully unaware.

Still a handy app for my purposes

Yeah - strange -maybe there is one? - hopefully someone will post if there is.

On a positive note - good reader will print the cropped portion of the file - FWIW

From what I've read on ebook forums where there is frequent discussion about this, there are no apps for any OS that can actually crop a PDF. The apps that do "crop" are setting a viewing window that is smaller than the PDFs real size to give the appearance of a crop. Some of these may be able to leverage the viewing window to affect cropped printing.

I don't believe it is possible to actually crop a PDF. You would need to import the PDF into a page layout app or word processor, resize the pages, and then export the modified document as a PDF. Importing a PDF into an editing program is problematic. Some PDFs can be imported easily and others are impossible to import without major flaws that would need manual fixes.

I don’t think the old 32 bit still show up in the App Store do they? That’s why we had issues with Goodreader at one point. They didn’t update so all of our schools new iPads couldn’t download the app. It’s since been updated.

Dang... So close. It can't crop a single page in a stack. They all get cropped. :(

Going to get it anyway.
